Gary Wolf started shooting seriously in the 1970's. His first endeavors were close-ups of flowers, insects and frogs; but Gary did not like spiders and snakes. Gary also shot landscapes and architecture for commercial sales brochures. After a modicum of acceptability and success, he began studying, taking courses at U.C. Berkley, and U.C. Santa Cruz as well as several workshops around the world. In 1997 Gary was invited to exhibit his work at Christies in London. Gary has conducted a number of exclusive workshops for individuals, as well as groups of up to 20, and lectured for groups of as many as 125. Gary also had 35 prints on display for two months at the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum in 2002. He was a member of, and served as a Vice President on the National Board of Directors of the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum in Oklahoma City, OK. Gary started with black and white and color print film, but had shot 35mm slides for most of his career, and in early 2004 Gary moved into digital as well.He preferred 35mm slides for his prints, but admitted the digital route for brochures and articles had proved quite rewarding for him.
Gary Wolf shot all over the United States, Mexico, and Canada as well as various Islands in the Caribbean, Scotland, England, France, Italy, and Greece. In memoriam of Gary Wolf and his photography, his wife Connie Wolf continues to display his photography at the Crested Butte Club, various businesses in Crested Butte and on the website. We hope you enjoy the Gallery on this web page and invite you to visit the Wolfotography Gallery in Crested Butte, CO.
